Cheese, Wine and Quiz event

Eighty people attended our May fundraiser which was a Quiz, Cheese and Wine in Bakewell – and netted over £850 for our funds. John & Sue Kelcey volunteered their services and did a superb quiz – thank you both - the table was laden with food and drink – and most importantly, those who attended said what a great night they had enjoyed. Our Trustees feel that bringing the community together for such events is in line with the communities we try to support in Rwanda – because to bring people together is so important for the wellbeing of us all. We were privileged this year to welcome to our Quiz the new High Commissioner to Rwanda who will be taking up her post in August 2024 – and was happy to address those present. This lady, and her family, live locally – and are delighted to have made contact with The Goboka Rwanda Trust – as we are to welcome her. Thanks must go to our many supporters – both old and new - and also our band of helpers – who really do work hard on these occasions. We try to shop locally for all our events to help the local economy – and a special thanks to Bakewell Co-op who are always willing to support us – and for which we are most grateful. This has now become an annual event – and one which we hope to repeat for theforeseeable future.
